Terms of Service
Last updated: May 25, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Learn With Liam app and website (collectively, "Liam"). By using Liam you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.
Who can use Liam
Liam is designed for parents and guardians to use with children aged roughly 12–36 months. You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction (typically 18) to create an account.
Your account
- You sign in by clicking a one-time magic link sent to your email.
- Keep your email account secure — anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you.
- One account per family is plenty; you can sign in on multiple devices.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the service.
- Attempt to access another user's data.
- Use Liam to harm a child or to circumvent your jurisdiction's child-protection laws.
- Submit malicious content through any input field (errors are logged and may be reviewed).
Pricing
Liam is currently free during private beta. If we introduce paid plans later, current users will be told ahead of time and given a clear choice — no surprise charges.
Content & intellectual property
All app code, copy, voice recordings ("Molly"), illustrations of the Liam character, and audio prompts are © Learn With Liam and may not be redistributed or used to train machine-learning models without written permission. You keep ownership of anything you yourself enter (your child's name, progress data, etc.).
Service availability
We do our best, but Liam is provided as-is with no uptime guarantee. The app is offline-capable — once installed it will continue to work even if our servers are down. Magic-link sign-in and cloud sync require an internet connection.
Disclaimers
Liam is an educational toy, not a substitute for pediatric, developmental, or speech-therapy advice. We make no claims that any particular child will learn any particular thing in any particular time. Use at your own discretion.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Learn With Liam is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is capped at $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months, whichever is greater.
Termination
You can stop using Liam and delete your account at any time from the in-app Account screen. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms; in egregious cases (abuse, attempts to harm other users) we may do so without notice.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date and, for non-trivial changes, send a heads-up email to active accounts. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator is principally based. If you're a consumer in the EU/UK, this clause doesn't override your mandatory local protections.
